Sizing Guide for Woven Wraps

Welcome to Little Zen One!

First, please check out our interactive woven wrap size chooser here.

When choosing the size for a woven wrap there are a few things to consider:

  1. The size of whomever is using the wrap.
  2. The carries you would like to do.
  3. The size of your child(ren) being wrapped.

Typically, the first wrap people get is their base. The base size is the size you can do the most carries with!

A "base size" can be determined by the shortest length of wrap you need to do a Front Wrap Cross Carry (FWCC). This size will allow you to do many  full length carries. Every body is different, but most will find their base in the 5 - 7 range. Your child’s size won’t make a noticeable difference in your base size.

Women's Base Size:

US shirt size 4 - 8              -> Size 5 wrap

US shirt size 8 -12              -> Size 6 wrap

US shirt size 14 - 20          -> Size 7 wrap

US shirt size 22 - 26           -> Size 8 wrap

Wrap Size Metres Inches Feet
2 2.7 106.3 8.9
3 3.2 126.0 10.5
4 3.7 145.7 12.1
5 4.2 165.4 13.8
6 4.7 185.0 15.4
7 5.2 204.7 17.1
8 5.7 224.4 18.7

Once you’ve determined your base size, you can find your “shorty” size wrap by subtracting 2 sizes. If your base size is a 6, you will usually find a size 4 will work well for a Ruck carry tied in front.

Sizes can vary due to the unique nature of woven material.

Size 2 = 2.7m, Size 3 = 3.2m, Size 4 = 3.7m, Size 5 = 4.2m, Size 6 = 4.7m, Size 7 = 5.2m, Size 8 = 5.7m.

The width of woven wraps will vary, but most are between 26" - 28" / 66 - 71 cm wide. While most widths will work for everyone, wide wraps would be better for toddlers, and a more narrow wrap would be better for infants. However, I use narrow wraps with my toddler. Again, this comes down to preference.

If you have a wrap you’d like to measure, use a soft tape and measure along one rail. Follow this video for detailed instructions.

Woven wraps are measured along one rail. A rail refers to the long edge of the wrap (like train tracks).

The majority of machine wovens, like Didymos, are finished with tapered ends allowing for a trimmer knot and easier tie-off. You will discover your preferences with practice. You may find long tails get in your way. Alternatively, you may find you love the look of long tails, or want to explore different “finishes” those long tails can be used for.
